A nice evening perusing a manuscript

I have had a generally lousy day, at the end of an increasingly lousy week. But I ended up finding a bit of a bright spot doing a bit of copyediting. The anthology Darkness Blooms is in the final stages of production. (It was originally slated for last fall, then delayed due to a number of factors, most dramatically cover art delays due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.) Aside from checking over my story, I did an extra-set-of-eyes pass on some of the others. The copyediting itself was kind of soothing (especially since the manuscript is pretty darn clean at this stage of the process) and I enjoyed getting a sneak peak of the contents. I’m really excited to see this book out in the world.
